it is not that i do not like to be called therese... it is a given (since birth)... i just find it funny when people call me therese.
people who call me therese belong to my elem and high school friends (or college professors). nahh, i don't feel odd when they call me therese... it's just that i feel more young with that name (or sometimes too ladylike)... and i find the name therese too beautiful... i always feel like i have a beautiful and sosyal name which is i think does not describe me really.
wala lang...
i always feel like elem and HS pals have been my playmates... they played an important role in my childhood development...
i would not be the kakay or therese that i am if not for their contribution... and i always feel lucky that i grew up with them...
elem friends -- they made me appreciate on how academic excellence should be done... not that i am geeky ok... i remember, before we would leave class, i had this best friend whom i would spend the rest of the afternoon with just to finish all our assignments in school so that when we get home we would just review our notes and we would have longer time playing or watching tv at home... her name is jean.
jean and i hit it off because our kuyas belonged to the same varsity team, and we would see each other during games and would cheer for them. we both loved math. and i guess, we loved the healthy competition feel. i never appreciated math, until, i was sent to a math appreciation summer class (Kiddie Math). and when i entered holy child (my new school then), i made use of the things i learned from there.
i used to have catfights with other girls/boys too in elem since i was one of the new girls in class. some did not like me because they felt that i took away jean from there group, or that i was being maarte or i was a tigre. some liked me because i played volleyball/basketball with them or partly because i was kikay enough to the point of knowing how to ploy moves or moments with crushes. some basically liked me because we were classmates in kinder or in grade 1.
jean and i sort of disconnected in high school because i went to a weird school (haha jemi).
and from then on, i embraced the fact that i would be spending my 4 years in hs with my new set of weird friends... the xtremz.
actually, it was during the last two years (after hibernating) that i have accepted the fact that the xtremz( 60 individuals in total) were indeed my playmates who partly influenced my behaviour, self-esteem, and set of values.
hmmmm... lately, because of facebook also, we bluntly squeal who the annoying person used to be...
hmmm...i also wish to reconnect with my friends from women's... another elementary school... but for now i am more content with me reconnecting with grades 5 and 6 batchmates.
i indeed I have a happy healthy elementary life and a very competitive high school experience.
