MOTY experience

I had my first (and perhaps, my last ???) MOTY experience. It was a nerve-warping experience (hahaha!)... anyways, masaya naman. I got to mingle with one of the winners, Ms. Saturnina Diez. I fetched her together with her loan officer from the airport. Ms. Diez's story was familiar to me because I was asked by my office to provide subtitles to her statements in the video. Ms. Diez is from Cebu, and she's a vegetable and fruit farmer. Her story is quite inspiring. Imagine, her husband used to work as a farmer/tenant of a certain land lord (and they solely depend on the husband's income) ... but because of her entrepreneurial intelligence, now they farm their own land and they even provide income to their neighbors/ community. She wanted her children to finish their studies, because it was something that she and her husband did not achieve. Nanay was quite shy. It was her first time to go to Manila, and she said that she has relatives here. In one of our exchanges, I to...

Microentrepreneur of the Year experience

In death, poor little girl’s wishes come true ...

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has promised to shoulder the burial expenses. “We have given her parents about P5,000,” Social Welfare Secretary Esperanza Cabral said. Napakacrappy ng act na to... 5,000 and a burial and other financial assistance... so temporal... what the Philippines need is not the strong economy as GMA insists that we are actually having... go down to where poverty is felt to the bones... answer the issues existing there... try living there, let see if you would not reconsider committing suicide... irony of all ironies: you could pay those who can implement your dirty tactics, but you have failed to make some poor girl's dream come true... ahmm ELITE THEORY din eh?! frustrating.

best bibingka

I have grown to love the bibingkas made in Mindanao. I find them yummy (very yummy), specially the ones made in Sulop, Padada, Davao Del Sur. When, I started living here in Luzon, I find their version of bibingkas weird (although, they really taste naman talaga). It's just that my tongue prefers the bibingka i have grown up with. During my short trip to Mindanao, I really did not mind eating lots of bibingkas. Savoring its taste to the max. I think it's made up of malagkit rice and has buko. I like it when it's a little bit sunog. Tastes even yummier.

I refused to understand...

There are things in life that seem odd. There are times when we decide on something solely because it is perceived by the society to be the RIGHT thing to do, or because it makes us PLAINLY happy. Sometimes, once we make certain decisions, there’s this thing called “consumer remorse”… we would wonder if that particular decision is the RIGHT decision… but then deciding what’s right or wrong solely depends on the person making the decision… that’s why I REFUSED to understand people who would blame previous experiences because of the way things are happening to them. I REFUSED to understand solely because in every move we make, certain decisions are made… and making decisions is done with conscious effort – the body, the soul and the spirit… sounds funny but that’s the way jocano and v. enriquez would have put things in context. It’s crap to blame others for screwing you, when in fact you yourself made that crappy choice to be screwed. It is also crap to say that you don’t have a...

spill over of ecstacy

last saturday was fun! FUN! FUN! ok... i was at my perky weirdness mode when i met two of jemi's students... hahaha! honestly, i was a bit embarrassed because i feel like i should have acted more of my age... but then, age is relative (ahmmm... Im 21 ... a line from House, MD, episode 2, given by this grey-haired wannabee-member-of-House-team)... === Had lots of realizations... yes... i am on my way na... i love XTREMZ... I extremely love XTREMZ because, part of who I am now has been greatly influenced by 59 other individuals in that solid 4 years of growing up in pshs-MC... i have to put MC... i am so used with the MC... while being with them, speeding flashbacks keep coming... which was likeee....AHHHHH! so nice... you can't help but just smile... and feel the moment of being at present and reliving the past... and the nicest part of the get-together was foster brother did not feel OP at all (i think... oh well, that was what he said to me...)... === i thanked foster br...

i am on my way...

last saturday was a blast... i met up again with HS friends... i had fun... aside from the fact that i have been quite glad that foster brother and fb's officemate got along (pretty well) with my HS batchmates. one thing i appreciate really with foster brother was his being WHOLE as a person... as a human... i am quite glad that he's my foster brother... oh well... i am just quite lucky to have him... he is sensitive... he may asks questions that sometimes i refuse to answer, but overall... he is nice... and i REALLY would want him to be one of my brothers... lucky enough that my family is included in one of his journeys. --- i don't want to compare my brothers with foster brother... i mean, my brothers are my brothers and they are quite the best... no doubt about it... but, right now, we seem to have our own lives... you know what i mean... when we were still younger... back to good old days along arellano st. in davao, we had plenty of time to talk of things... to share s...

sweet dreams... and reading in Davao

i will be purchasing a set of secondhand SWEET DREAMS books from someone whom I met through multiply -- gigi ... i was hoping to find PS I LOVE YOU in her collections... but she does not have any eh... and it's OK... Anyways, the very thought of buying 2nd hand Sweet Dreams books made me appreciate my HS life back in Davao... i feel like i am one of those lucky individuals who experienced having grown in a city where i felt safe... yet despite of its size... Davao seemed to be parochial (tama ba ang term)... i mean, kids back then would go to downtown to hang-out... and one of the places where most kids, esp. girls, my age then would love hangin out was the building where Davao Reader's Haven was situated then... i forgot the name but you can find the place near JS Gaisano and ATU and one of the movie houses... hehehe! anyways, there were two book readers' club in Davao then (as far as i could remember) -- Davao's Readers Haven and the Book Worm... I was a member of ...
